Repetative Patterns

a selection af  Dalecarlia horses, a handicraft from Sweden that is  known all over the world . They are handmade from carving to painting and the original was the red one. Being handmade one would expect some differences in the horses, but they all look identical.

I love these wooden horses. I wonder if these are similar to the one in the children's story "A Ride on the Red Mare's Back" which is a favorite of ours?
