Sandy

Does not get more sandy than this, the dunes of Maspalomas, located at the south of Gran Canaria. Can you se the persons walking on the first one? On the second you can se the sand blowing from the top and just to show the fine texture of the sand I show it on a hand. Enlarge all the photos to get an idea yourself.  The sand gets through everywhere so one must be very careful with cameras. I think some people get their cameras broken here.....

Wowzer, these are really beautiful. Love the contrast between the heavily textured first image and the silky smooth sand of the second image...what a difference! Love these!

Yes, I can see how easily a camera could be ruined here...yet, one would just want to get some pictures of this kind of landscape. Guess your camera survived...:)

These are truly amazing photos! Some of the best I've seen in my days of visiting photo blogs. I really like how in the second photo we can see the effect of the wind shaping the dunes. Thank you for showing us all three shots!

Chalk this up to the igmorance of a New Yorker. I'm afraid our knowlege of geography tends to be limited. I had no idea the Canary Islands were so arid. Those photos are worth of National Geographic.

These are stunning! The larger shots are amazing, I feel like I got some sand on my monitor just looking!

I love sand dunes and you have captured them well. I especially like #2, with the wind blow off the peaks.

I love the color combination here with the beautiful blues balanced by the sandy taupes. And the detail shot really illustrates how fine the sand is.
