I've not posted anything last week but I've been on one of the Canary Islands. However, now I'm back and I will try to do some catching up and... I moght show you a piece of Gran Canaria island as well. As these sharp plants. The cactus is something we all seen before but the second branch of a tree called Silk Floss Tree is new to me. Origin is from Brasil and Argentine but these I found in an interesting Botanic garden on the island. Visit Macro Monday for more macros and closeups.

Wow, those are nasty thorns on that second tree! Great photo of its detail.
Super Spikes here, Wunderbar!
Great sharp detail in both pics, those thorns in the 2nd one look lethal.
What a contrast that must be to Sweden! That thpry plant looks so exotic--and dangerous!
I bet you saw lots of interesting plants. This spiky one is unusual.
Ooh! Very prickly! Very good!
welcome back! That second tree is amazing.
Wow, I'll bet you felt like melting in the Canary Islands! And good for you for concentrating on having a good time and posting images later. Looking forward to seeing more images from your trip. The second image here is simply amazing.
Ouch!
I certainly wouldn't want to back into either one of these sharp plants! Great shots.
Wow - do those spines look sharp! Great capture.
Silkesträdet finns här nere hos mig också. Det är ett helt fantastiskt träd med dessa taggar på stammarna och sen en överdådig blomning med ljuva rosa blommor! Så vackert!
Two years ago, I saw the silk floss tree for the very first time in my 60 years...........and the one I saw was HUGE!! They're sure lethal looking. But what beautiful orchid-like flowers!!
My Link for today:
Hot pink...BEAUTY and the BEAST
